Twenty20 World Cup 2012 will be fourth ICC World Twenty20 competition since it began from the year 2007, South Africa. The Fourth International ICC Twenty20 World Cup will be played in Sri Lanka in 2012. ICC World Twenty20 2012 will feature 16 teams, against 12 teams participated in last World Twenty20 2010. Out of total sixteen teams, six teams would be selected from 2012 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier. The Qualifying round will be played in UAE in early 2012.

2012 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier would comprise ten qualifiers from regional Twenty20 tournaments in addition to the six nations which have either ODI/Twenty20 status in ICC. The World Twenty20 2012 will be played in the month of September 2012.
