U19 World Cup Final India vs Australia Post Match 2012

Chand: I don’t have words to express my feelings. I am thankful to god for being able to perform. I scored a century in the last finals as well, they were very good today and deserved more luck. Townsville has been very lucky for us, we have enjoyed our time here. The journey as the Indian camp has been very good, we had 15 players from 15 states, now we are one as a team. We have had many camps together and have won many tournaments. I do not have MSD’s number, but I would like to get his number now. I would like to thank our support staff, they did a great job for us, thanks to the NCA staff, the net bowlers, the people back home and the crowd over here. Thanks a lot for being there for us.

Unmukt Chand is the MoM for his sparkling century

William Bosisto: Everyone is pretty deflated in our camp. We had a great time over the last fortnight. We dropped a few chances, that proved costly in the end. Congrats to the Indians, they were better then us in all the facets of the game. Unmukt is an outstanding cricketer and this is not the first time we suffered at his hands. Hopefully, we will get one back at him the next time we play. Thanks to all those responsible for making this tournament such a pleasure.

Smit Patel: When I went in to bat, the captain appreciated me. I was a bit tentative in the beginning, Chand gave me confidence to get going. We wanted to stick to the basics, the coach told us not to get nervous in tough situations. Chand is a special character, it was awesome to bat with him. We had a century partnership previously as well, we knew we could repeat it today.
